Development Status

 

Clean-up in progress and important PSA modification now in hand.

Clean-up is going well and gaining momentum.  And the State has now modified the Purchase and Sale Agreement (PSA) with the Town that will allow the site to be subdivided for development.  This is a major step forward.

Currently, the physical site is being prepared for redevelopment, as funding permits. Manafort Brothers, Inc. is the PRA's contractor for this work - executing specific task orders provided by the PRA, in consultation with the PRA's Licensed Environmental Professional (LEP) - Tighe & Bond, and in concert with DEEP of Connecticut, and EPA.  A number of grants have been awarded and inclusive of Town matching funds, progress is moving nicely ahead with clean-up efforts. 

With the exception of the historic Administration building, it is expected that all other structures on the property with be razed.

Proposal status

The Town ended an RFP process on June 15th, 2012, without successful conclusion after recent negotiations with a proposer did not end in agreement.

Next slated steps are to take comment from interested parties (sidelined during the RFP) while simultaneously and immediately moving to a brokerage agreement with a commercial real estate firm.
